GreenSky is not a financial institution. We are a service provider and program administrator for federally insured, federal and state chartered banks that participate in the GreenSky® Programs and provide consumer loans. You got a loan agreement as a borrower, which defined the bank that is providing and financing your loan. This is a direct loan arrangement between you and the financing bank. GreenSky, on the other hand, services your loan at your lender’s guidance and control, so any questions you have should be addressed to us.
Why does “GreenSky” appear on my credit report? I was under the assumption that I was requesting credit from my contractor or merchant.
To help you identify inquiries and reporting for your GreenSky® Program loan, credit reporting is done under the GreenSky® Program term. Regardless of whether you applied to the GreenSky® Program or not, the actual Loan Agreement is between you and the bank that is financing your loan. GreenSky, on the other hand, will be servicing your loan, so any queries should be addressed to us.
Is my loan deductible as a company expense?
We are unable to give you tax advice. GreenSky® Program installment loans, on the other hand, are personal loans, not mortgages that qualify for a home mortgage tax deduction.
